Green smoothies are all the hype these days. You might not believe a word of the hype about green smoothies. However, you can be certain of this: doing anything that you feel of as healthy makes it more likely that you’ll do other healthy things. The human mind just loves to be consistent. So if you haven’t jumped on the green smoothie wagon yet, hopefully this post will inspire you to try at least one green smoothie recipe.
If you want to make your green smoothie healthy and balanced, keep the alkalizing greens dominant. You won’t even know they are there. The fruit and other tasty ingredients completely overpower the green taste. One tip I have is to blend the greens with some water first and turn the “green juice” into ice cubes or mini muffins before hand. It does require a little bit of planning, but it will help blend the greens right in. There’s nothing worse than a chewing on kale stems or parsley fibers.
While I’m all about healthy, I can’t drink a smoothie that tastes like a blended green salad. There are times I think I can skip the fruit altogether, but nope. I can’t. Fruit just sweetens things up and makes the smoothie so much more creamy and delicious. These three green smoothies also include some of my favorite superfoods: almond butter, flax seeds, hemp seeds, avocados, coconuts, and cinnamon.
If you’ve seen my post about this Chocolate Ice Cream Smoothie with Hidden Greens, you know that I’m addicted to green smoothies. I love how they make me feel. I love that I’m eating salad ingredients while tasting ice cream.
The reason I included three smoothie recipes is that I have at least one green smoothie a day. And since variety is a good thing, I try to switch up the ingredients every once in a while. Although I do have to admit that I’m one of those people who could eat the same thing over and over again. Can you blame me when green smoothies taste so delicious?
If you try it, leave a comment below and let me know what you think. I would love to hear from you!
