Hi, and Welcome to Nutrition Refined!

I am Petra, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, certified Raw Food Chef, a YouTuber (with over 300,000 subscribers), and the founder of Nutrition Refined living in Canada. Since January 2016, this blog has been the place for me to share my knowledge and love for whole, plant-based foods.

On this site, you’ll find wholesome recipes, cooking tutorials, and kitchen advice. My goal is to inspire and empower you to nourish your body and find your healthiest life. I chose “Nourish & Glow” as the motto for Nutrition Refined because I believe that when you provide your body with healthy, nutritious food, it will naturally glow.

My Diet

I am not a raw foodist, vegan, vegetarian, paleo, or keto. I simply love real food, as close to its natural state as possible. My diet consists of plants, ideally high in protein. Organic whenever the budget allows. Occasionally raw.

Over the years, I’ve learned what my body needs to feel its best. I know that if I listen to my body, it will take care of itself and be in a perfect state naturally. Counting calories and dieting doesn’t work for me; maintaining internal balance does. I started Nutrition Refined to help you find just that – your inner health so you can look and feel your best.

Why I Do What I Do

I became a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and a Raw Food Chef because I wanted to figure out what foods worked the best for me. Science is constantly revealing new, sometimes conflicting, information about the human body and what it requires to function at its best. I was so confused by all the information out there. I needed somebody to help me make sense out of it. While I learned a lot during my studies, the most important takeaway was that there is no one-size-fits-all diet that works for everyone, only a diet that works for you. Just because an avocado is full of nutrients doesn’t mean your body will respond favorably to it.

If you listen, your body will tell you exactly what it needs to be healthy. You don’t need to hire a health coach to gain energy, improve your digestion, or have clearer skin. Your body has the ultimate wisdom you can tap into. If you start with real, nutrient-dense foods and remember mindful, intuitive eating, you’ve taken the first step in the right direction.
